Madrid Atocha is one of two main train stations in Madrid. It is the central hub for the AVE trains routes that cover the south of Spain, the Elipsos (trains from Paris) and RENFE . The main features of the Madrid Atocha train station is the beautiful tropical garden with turtles and statues found inside to keep you entertained whist waiting.

Ticket Office: Located on the main concourse (you can't miss it). There is a numbered waiting system, so get a number, then wait until your number is called. Opening hours: 06:30 - 21:00
Bureau de change/ATM: There a several ATM cash machines at Madrid Atocha train station. We do not have information about whether there is a bureau de change (called Cambio in Spanish). If you have up to date information please let us know.
Left luggage: Monday to Thursday 09:00 - 14:00 and 16:00 to 18:30 Fridays 08:00 - 14:00
Wheelchair access: Puerta de Atocha station is wheelchair friendly and has step free access to all platforms.
Public transport: Puerta de Atocha has a dedicated metro stop, called Renfe Atocha. It on metro line 1 (the same line as Charmartin if you're making an interchange). Use the Madrid Metro planner to plan your journey, or download this Madrid Metro Map pdf
