Works on the Simplon line affecting Italy - Switzerland connections

From Monday 13th August to Sunday 2nd September 2012, for planned maintenance works on the Simplon railway line, long-distance EuroCity trains between Italy (Milan and Venice) and the Swiss cities of Geneva, Bern, Basel and Lausanne will be affected.

No trains will run on routes between Domodossola and Iselle due to construction in Varzo. During these dates please use the alternative route by bus and train between these cities:

Milan/Venice – Geneva / Bern / Basel / Lausanne

• Take a EuroCity (EC) train from Milano/Venice to Domodossola.
• Switch to the replacement bus service from outside Domodossola train station to Iselle station.
• Reboard the train at Iselle station and continue on to Geneva, Bern and Lausanne. For travel to Basel change trains at Bern.
