Hi Jody, Are you travelling to watch the football? If so here are some tips for getting to Euro 2012 by train! Just done a little bit of digging... London to Cologne is €189 with Deusche Bahn, £120 on Loco2. Sometimes there are London Spezial fares from €49 but since we are nearing the date of travel it's getting more expensive. Alternatively, you could go London to Berlin as mentioned and then get an onward direct train to Gdansk, and return via Cologne. From Cologne to Poznan there is an Euronight sleeper train that departs Cologne at 22.28pm and gets to Poznan at 7.55am the next day. Or from Berlin, from the 9th June 2012, there is a direct train leaving at 3.40pm and arriving into Gdansk at 10.04pm. You can book Berlin to Gdansk via Deutsche Bahn For travel within Poland i.e. Poznan to Gdansk etc, we recommend Polrail. This is where you can get the cheapest train tickets in Poland, and they sell major routes (see below) online. If you wanted to make a detour off the beaten path, you can call them up for detailed information. I would recommend deciding on an itinerary and booking as soon a possible. So just to recap, Loco2 cannot sell the Berlin - Gdansk leg or travel within Poland but we are competitive for other legs of your itinerary. Happy railing! 1 year ago

Hi Jody You can get to Gdansk via Poznan with 3 changes, the 3rd of which is in Poznan. I would recommend London - Brussels - Cologne - Poznan - Gdansk. When are you planning to travel? If it's a weekend, the train times will be slightly different, so if you can give me an indication might be able to give you more specific information. Generally speaking, booking 3-4 months in advance offers the cheapest ticket prices. Also, in mid June there will be a train direct from Berlin to Gdansk, so you might consider going via Berlin for the outbound or return leg just to mix it up. 1 year ago

I've just come across this website dealing specifically with trains for 2012, which looks like a great resource. I haven't used it myself, but it claims to offer e-tickets, timetables and booking via mobile phones according to this article on the Washington Post so might be worth checking out. If anyone's used it please give us a shout with your feedback. 11 months, 4 weeks ago
